I won the CMT Country Strong Singing Competition in Chicago!! Now on to the National Finals!!
Last night I participated in the CMT/Sony Country Strong Singing Competition at Joe’s Bar in Chicago. It was such an exciting evening competing against some amazing vocalists for $500 and the chance to compete for a live performance on CMT and some other amazing prizes. I sang the song “Country Strong” acapella, the tune sung by Gwynth Paltrow in the movie. At the end of the competition, they had all of the singers take the stage together. I think I was more nervous at this point then I was when I was singing! But soon after they announced my name as the winner of the competition! I was so excited because, well frankly, I could really use the $500 to go towards my next album…:)….but mostly because I knew that winning this competition could potentially open some big doors for me in the business. So a big THANK YOU to all of my amazing family, friends, and fans for supporting me and thinking of me last night!
So, what’s the next step you ask? Well, in just a few days, my video from the competition, along with 14 other local winners from different cities across the country, will appear on CMT.com. For just a few days, YOU will be able to cast your vote to help me become the National Winner of this CMT Contest!!! At that point, I’d be able to not only perform LIVE on CMT (ah!!) but I’d also get to mingle and work with some major Sony Music Execs down in Music City! So ladies and gents….this is just a heads up to get ready to VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!! I’ll send out bulletins on all of my social media sites so please spread the word to all of your friends!
